If the height of hemisphere and cone is 49cm and height of cone is 35cm find the volume of solid.

1 answer

Assuming that the two parts share no common volume, then just add up the volumes, using the normal formulas:

Clearly, the radius of the hemisphere (and the base of the cone) is 49-35=14cm

So, the volume is just

(1/2)(4/3)(pi)(14^3) + (1/3)(pi)(14^2)(35) = 4116 pi
