If the density of a substance is 7.87 g/cubic cm, convert this density to g/cubic inches.
6 answers
7.87g/cm^3 * (2.54cm/in)^3
So it would be:
7.87cm^3 * 16.387064 cm^3/1in^3?
Wouldn't it be the other way around with 1in^3/16.387064cm^3?
7.87cm^3 * 16.387064 cm^3/1in^3?
Wouldn't it be the other way around with 1in^3/16.387064cm^3?
The unwanted units must divide out. One wants g/in^3 in the answer.
IF you had done this,
7.87g/cm^3 * 1in^3/16.4cm^3m the final units would be
xxxx g*in^3/cm^6
IF you had done this,
7.87g/cm^3 * 1in^3/16.4cm^3m the final units would be
xxxx g*in^3/cm^6
How does the cm^3 cancel out I'm multiplying 7.87g/cm^3 by 16.4cm^3?
I hope this turns out ok. If it doesn't make sense, ignore it.
g            cm^3
---- x -------- = g/in^3
cm^3      in^3
g            cm^3
---- x -------- = g/in^3
cm^3      in^3
looks ok.
