If candle wax melts and then hardens, shouldn't you have a never ending candle? Because if the wax melts then hardens it should never run out other than the wick that does burn out.

The wax goes into the wick and then the wick releases the wax into the air.

You recognize that the wick must burn out and must be replaced. The hardened wax CAN be used over and over by making new candles and using new wicks. BUT, as pointed out in the other response to your question, some of the wax actually is burned. The flame is not from the wick but mostly from the wax. So some wax is burned when burning the candle and eventually will be burned. Yes, some of the heat goes to melt the wax, which hardens, but the loss finally catches up.
