second piece --- x
first piece ---- x+5

"3/4 of the second piece is equal to 3/5 of the first" ---> (3/4)x = (3/5)(x+5)
times 20
15x = 12x+ 60
3x = 60
x = 20

the second piece is 20 cm
(the first is 25 cm)

check:
(3/4)of 20 = 15
(3/5) of 25 = 15
