If a 5.0L volume of O2 (g) is at 1.0 atm, if we hold the temperature and molar amount of O2 constant how many psi of pressure does this amount of O2 exert if the volume it is allowed to take up is decreased to 2.0L?

Volume goes down, pressure goes up.
p = 1.0 atm x ( 5.0L/2.0L) = 2.5 atm.
Convert that to psi.
p = 1.0 atm x ( 5.0L/2.0L) = 2.5 atm.
Convert that to psi.
