The answer is 1/12. I know that they are working on 1/3 of the mile, then we split that 1/3 mile into 4. Now we divide the other 2/3 into 4 and 4. This makes 1/3 equal 4. 4+4+4=12. Then since they only did one part, Each person did 1 of ALL the 12ths. This makes 1/12 our answer.
