Compound subjects have more than one word and one of the conjunctions to join them.

Simple subject has only one word used as the subject.

Simple subject ~~> Tom threw the baseball.
Compound subject ~~> The boys and girls were all out on the playground.
Compound subject ~~> Either the boy or his sister was at home yesterday.
