Identify ALL of the energy transformations that occur in the following scenario - A television is plugged into the wall and is turned on.

We shall be happy to critique your thinking.
Well, I'm not sure about when the tv is plugged into the wall but I'm thinking the chemical energy is converted into electric energy, than the electric energy is converted to light energy when the tv is turned on.
I know I'll have to reword it a bit but do you think thats a decent response?

The fact that ALL is capitalized should make us realize that the author of the question is looking for a no holds barred answer that's very inclusive. I would suggest that what you have is OK but I think it needs to be expanded. First, I think the electricity is produced several ways. It could be diesel engines converting potential energy of natural gas or fossil fuel into electricity. Or it could be kinetic energy of a water fall or fast moving water stream to create electricity. Both of these use mechanical energy in that conversion. And what about solar as a source of electricity? In the TV itself you have the electrical energy converting to light energy and sound energy. Both light and sound move through the air to the eyeball and ear. The eyeball converts the light back into an electrical signal that is transmitted to the brain where it is interpreted as moving pictures. The sound from the TV is mechanically transmitted through the air, acts on the parts of the ear to recreate the original sound and the brain interprets from there.
This is not complete, by any means, but this discussion may jostle your mind to add things I haven't thought of. I think you can take all of this, rewrite it into a more fashionable discussion and go from there. Hope this helps.

When we turn on the television, electrical energy changes into light and sound. Even though undesirable, some amount of heat is also produced. When we move a vehicle, the engine converts the chemical energy stored in the fuel into heat, sound and kinetic energy.

Energy transformations can happen in many different ways. Which of the following is an example of electrical energy transforming into heat energy?
