The three gorges dam was made to deliberately lower the number of floods in mainland China and lower the impacts of the floods on humans and vegetation by utilizing flood control. China is a fairly newly developing country, which has just initiated its energy producing conspiracy, unlike many other developed countries such as Canada and United States of America. While already developed countries are realizing that producing energy through bad practises like coal burning is a global issue and wanting to change their practises into an alternative clean energy source, china is just at its preliminary stages of development.
