32% what? by volume or by mass. That is w/v or w/w(m/m) I will assume w/v so 32% w/v is 32 g HCl/100 mL of solution or 320 g HCl/L solution..
What do you need for 1N HCl? That's 36.5 g HCl/L solution
1000 mL x (36.5/320) = 114 mL for 1L or 11.4 mL for 100 mL of solution.
Place 11.4mL of the 32% w/v solution in a 100 mL volumetric flask, make to the mark with distilled water, stopper, mix thoroughly, label.
Done.
You may like this way better.
You have 32 g HCl/100 mL. You want 36.5 g HCl/1000 mL or 3.65 g/100 mL.
Dilution formula is g1 x mL1 = g2 x mL2
32 x mL = 3.65 x 100
mL = 3.65*100/32 = 11.4 mL of the 32% stuff.
i want to prepare 1N of HCl in 100ml,our stock concentration is 32%.
