I raced down the street my feet pounded on the sidewalk I wasn’t going to get there in time. My lungs burned I gasped for air I kept sprinting. I couldn’t let my sister down she was having a terrible day I wanted to cheer her up. The houses were a blur as I zoomed past I almost crashed into a mailbox. Time was running out I ran even faster sweat poured down my back. I rounded the corner just before the ice cream truck started its engine I screamed, “Wait!”
