I posted this question the other day but all the websites I was given were about the negative effects and the people against the United States depending on foreign oil. Are there any articles that are for the U.S. dependence on foreign oil? I have to write my essay about the two sides of the issue.

It's difficult to be for the U.S. dependence on foreign oil. However, we have little choice for the forseeable future. We don't have nearly enough domestic oil to meet our needs. Drilling in Alaska is not environmentally sound, and besides Alaskan oil still wouldn't come close to make us independent of foreign oil.

Let's face it, we live in a global economy in which we must trade with other countries that have the commodities and resources we need. At this time, we don't have acceptable and efficient alternatives to foreign oil. Ethanol, using food crops that could be used to feed the world's hungry people, is an unethical and impractical substitute.

Until we develop effective substitutes for oil, it looks like we will remain dependent on it for a long time.

The only site I found that might help you is this one.
