Search Engine Selection

  1. I chose Google as my search engine because it's really popular and I can usually find a lot of information quickly.

  2. I typed "Billie Eilish" into the search bar because I wanted to learn more about her. My search was successful right away! I got a lot of good results about her music, life, and career.

Websites Selection

  1. The three websites I selected are:

    • Rolling Stone
    • Billboard
    • Biography.com
  2. I picked these websites because they seemed interesting based on their titles. I also checked to see when they were published or updated. They were all on the first page of the search results, which means they are probably popular and relevant.

Browsing Each Website

    • Rolling Stone: Yes, it has an author listed at the top of the article.
    • Billboard: Yes, it also has an author.
    • Biography.com: Yes, it shows who wrote it too.

If I couldn’t find an author, I could try searching the website or checking their "About" page to learn more about who runs it. If there's no information, it might mean they want to stay anonymous, which isn't always a good sign.

    • Rolling Stone: Updated in 2023.
    • Billboard: Updated in 2023.
    • Biography.com: Updated in 2022.

The dates tell me that the information is pretty recent and should be accurate and relevant.

  1. Yes, all three sites have links to other articles and websites, and they all worked when I clicked on them.

  2. The domains are:

    • Rolling Stone: .com
    • Billboard: .com
    • Biography.com: .com

The .com means they are commercial websites, which can be reliable, but I still need to check the information carefully.

  3. The information on all three sites was similar, mostly talking about her music and awards. If one site had different information, it could mean it was less reliable or maybe just focused on a different part of her life.

  4. I also looked for things like spelling and grammar, and if there were citations or references. All the sites seem reliable. I would definitely use the information from these sites for a research project about Billie Eilish!
