You've got the cart before the horse. The first thing you have to do is to learn about your topic.

Read! Read! Read!

As you learn about gender roles and identities, take notes on those facts that answer your questions. Be sure to include examples and explanations.

Then, devise a thesis statement. Outline the points that support this thesis. This site will help you write a thesis statement.
