I need help with this.
Use the Law Of Syllogism to determine a conclusion from statements 1 & 2.
1. All squares are rhombuses
2. The diagonals of a rhombus are perpendicular.
What can we say about the diagonals of all squares then?
the diagonals of all squares are perpendicular.
You got it.
It might be useful to know too that squares are the the intersection of rectangles and rhombuses. They have all the properites of both sets.
For your syllogism question, if something is true for a set or collection, as it is here for rhombuses, then it's true for all members of any subset, in this case squares.
That seems so simple. I guess the way I read it just confused me a bit.
Thank you!
