Time = Distance/Speed
If you are going to use the speed in m/s, the distance must be in meters.
262.4 miles is 422.2 km or 422,200 m. I assume you know how to that conversion.
Time (in seconds) = 422,200/6.2 = ___
6.2 m/s is pretty slow for a car. A good marathon runner can run that fast.
I need help with this question.
A car travels along a straight and level road at a constant speed of 6.2 m/s. Calculate how long (in seconds) it will take the car to travel a total distance of 262.4 miles along this road.

First you have to convert the miles into meters.
There are 5280 feet in a mile, then there are 12 inches in a foot, then 2.54 centimeters in an inch and then 100 centimeters in a meter. So you should get ((262.4)(5280)(12)(2.54))/(100)= 422291.8656 meters.
Speed= distance/time
6.2 m/s = 422291.8656 meters/ T (s)
T (s) = 422291.8656 meters/ 6.2 m/s
T (s) = 6811.59123 seconds

Kyle's last step is incorrect. Note the decimal point error.
