(I need help on this, there are two options but I only chose one.)

the following question asks about one or more selections from your literature textbook. You may use your textbook to answer the question. Select one question to respond to:

Time plays an important role in Act I of The Phantom Tollbooth
At the beginning of the play, the Clock says, "Time is important, but it's what you do with it that makes it so." In an essay, explain what this reveals about the author's viewpoint. Then tell how at least two characters or situations in the drama illustrate this viewpoint.

8 answers

I haven't read this work, but the directions are pretty clear.

1. Read The Phantom Tollbooth.
2. What is the author's viewpoint regarding time?
3. How does the Clock's statement demonstrate/explain the author's viewpoint regarding time?
4. Which two characters or two situations in the play illustrate (point out) the author's viewpoint?

An essay means that you don't simply answer those questions as briefly as possible. Have you been taught how to plan and write a multi-paragraph essay?
I have been taught how to do a 5 paragraph essay, if that's the same thing.
Yes, that's right. Good. Be sure to plan how you will use those 5 paragraphs.

1. Introduction (written last, not first) with your thesis statement at the end
2.
3.
4.
5. Conclusion

What do you think would go into paragraphs 2, 3, and 4?

2.Figurative language is when you use a word outside of it's normal meaning. Concrete Mixers uses figurative language to describe the way the truck mixes concrete. They are compared to "big gray elephants" because to the similarity of the "tubes that look like trunks", going down and emptying the load and then going up when not in use. The drivers of the concrete mixers "perch on their back like mahouts". Mahouts are elephant riders, trainers and elephant zoo-keepers. "the drivers are washing the elephant mixers, like elephant tenders, they hose them down.

3.My reading selection is called "Weedflower by Cynthia Kadohata". The impact it had on me was that it made me feel sympathetic for the innocent Japanese Americans that were "thrown into ancient military bunks without any explanation". Yes, i would recommend this book to a friend because it is a great example of historical fiction. I think that it's great because Kadohata wrote about "an elegant humble...." character who "adapted to changes outside of her control". Evidence from the text is in "...".
yes sir
but hat is number one!? i am gaca
True but we forget anyway
