The Theme About Invictus
So far i have:
In my essay there will be focus on the poem “Invictus” by William Ernest Henley. This essay will be focusing on the theme of how much pain the person was feeling. There will be some background knowledge to explain the theme. Although there were rough times they had a choice to control where their souls should go. I say this because if we choose the right way to live we can have control of where our souls are going to go.
For example, the poem says “I am the captain of my soul. ” I use this as an example because that means if we live a good life we have control of our souls. We are able to make ourselves better than we really are and use that to set an example. However, if we choose to live a bad life we are able to change the way we live but if we don't we will not have control of our souls. This poem “Invictus” talks about how to survive in tough situations and have control of your life and souls.
As an example, it says “I am the master of my fate.” I use this because when we have control of our souls we have the choice to live a good life or a bad life. Invictus is similar to We Real Cool because the moods both talk about death and both of the settings are dark and lonely. However, the endings are very different because in Invictus we have control of our soul and how to live life before death. As for the poem We Real Cool it gives the pool players a choice but they choose the wrong choice and the died soon.
No matter what happens we make all of our own choices and live the way we want to live good or bad we still have control of our souls or our fate. As we live our everyday lives we choose good or bad if we choose good we can save our souls if we choose bad we get fate.
