I have to write a reflection on a photo essay about the Great Depression for English class. It(the reflection) is supposed to explain how the photos show the conditions of the Depression and it is also supposed to relate the photos to the life of the average black male of the time, as well as to the novels, To Kill a Mockingbird and I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings. I suppose I don't really need help with the reflection or the content, but I don't know how to focus enough to work on it. It is supposed to be short: only a page, double spaced. So, again, my real question: How do I attain sufficient focus to finish this?

Ummmm.... Sorry, I forgot to mention that I am already about halfway through it, and I can't seem to get back into it. Being a reflection, it is fairly informal, so I simply describe the photos and then explain their meaning. I just always seem to veer away from the screen in the middle of a sentence and start tapping something or staring into space.
I suggest you come up with a good thesis statement. Then briefly outline your ideas that will support your thesis.

Those two steps should make it easier to focus on your essay.
