I have to write a counterclaim... is this correct?

Though marriage should be a natural right, many people think it's morally wrong because of their religion.

Claim: The overall thesis the writer will argue for.

Counterclaim: A claim that negates or disagrees with the thesis/claim.


So far, there seems to be something missing between the claim and your sentence that's supposed to be a counter claim. I'd say you need to clarify both the claim AND the counterclaim.
