Anne Frank was 13 when she started her diary. She was a German Jew who with her family fled to the Netherlands to hide from the Nazis and escape the Holocaust. She kept her diary, full of what many teens experience, her hopes, her conflicts, her love. However, because she was in hiding in an attic in Amsterdam, she never could go outside. She kept the diary for over two years until finally the family was found and was taken to a Nazi death camp.
This is probably the most important book that teens and others can read.
