I have these two equations that I'm supposed to set equal to each other and find the answer for h which is height for this problem. But I don't think I'm solving it correctly.

0 - (h/5) = -1.1(v0) - (1/2)(-9.8)(1.1)^2

(v0)^2 = 2(-9.8)(h/5 - h)

My final answer was h = 412.90 to two significant figures so that's: 4.1 * 10^2

But MasteringPhysics says its incorrect. What's the real answer? And what am I doing wrong?

I can't tell, but I suspect you have signs all messued up.

Down is -, + is up. In the first equation, is vo down orup? why is the sign before 1/2 -, then another - before 9.8. I can't help more than this, but is suspect it is signs in the first and second equation.
