I have the following question to write an essay about: How did the development of academics in France and England change the way artists were taught from earlier academics and create a new style? What was this new style?
In my book it never mentioned the development of academics in France and England so I have no idea which style it's talking about because we covered a few in this unit. I'd really appreciate some help. :)

The question seems vague to me and doesn't use terminology I've ever heard. However, if you remember that art and most architecture in the Middle Ages were to be focused on Christianity, and that the Renaissance was the "coming away" from that, you'll have a good start.
Then consider the 1800s and 1900s as further continuation of the Renaissance -- that is, more and more individual thought and preference kept showing up, not only in art and architecture, but also in literature.
Keep going from there and use specifics to back up your ideas.
