I have no idea how to do this one question..

if someone could help me out and explain to me as to what i need to do, i'd appreciate it or work out an example problem..

|b|+b^3;b-2

i wrote that wrong, sorry.

it was suppose to be;
|b|+b^3;b=-2

as with all such problems, the variable name is just a place holder. You can substitute any value you want. So, here you have

|-2|+(-2)^2 = 2+4 = 6
If that still confuses you, you have some reviewing to do.
