I have a question. I have two android phones. Both android phones are unlock. The first one has been unlock for over a year and currently has no service. When I enter the IMEI number to see if is eligible for another carrier, it says that is it available to use in another carrier. However, the second android phone has been unlock for a month and currently has service with metro by t-mobile. When I enter the IMEI number it tells me that is not eligible to use with another carrier. why?

It is possible that the second phone's IMEI number is tied to the current carrier, Metro by T-Mobile, and therefore cannot be used with another carrier. Sometimes carriers lock the IMEI numbers of phones that are still under contract or have outstanding payments. You may need to contact Metro by T-Mobile to see if they can unlock the device for use with another carrier.
However, on the device settings it says that my phone is unlock
Even if your phone is showing as unlocked in the device settings, it is possible that the IMEI number is still locked by the carrier. This can happen if the phone was previously on a payment plan or contract with the carrier, even if it has been paid off or completed. In this case, you may need to contact Metro by T-Mobile to request an official unlocking of the IMEI number for use with another carrier. They should be able to provide you with more information and assistance in unlocking the device.
So, If i cancel me metro by tmobile plan, it will work?
Cancelling your Metro by T-Mobile plan may not automatically unlock the IMEI number of your phone for use with another carrier. It's best to contact Metro by T-Mobile directly to request an official unlock of the IMEI number. They will be able to provide you with the necessary steps to unlock the device and use it with another carrier. Keep in mind that there may be certain requirements or fees associated with unlocking the phone, so it's best to check with Metro by T-Mobile for more information.
