I have a question about the Civil War

I need to make a timeline of events leading to the Civil War. My final timeline should include 8–10 items that are illustrative of important issues or significant events that led to the outbreak of the Civil War. Each item should include an image, a caption for the image, a specific date (if possible), and a paragraph that describes the issue or event.

I am freaking out because i don't know a lot about how the civil war started, and i don't know where to start or look please help me get an idea on how to start this.
