I don't understand why a Car Bomb Hits a U.S. Embassy In Yemen. I know Yemen is the ancestral home of Osama bin Ladenand has been under al-Qaida attacks this year but can someone summarize the situation for me better?

A group called Jihad in Yemen apparently carried out this attack. Some extremists in Muslim countries do not want their region to have anything to do with the Western world (U.S., Britain, etc.). It looks like the purpose of the attack was to force Americans to leave Yemen. As for bin Laden, he still has relatives in Yemen, but it's not clear whether they had anything to do with this bombing.
