I don't understand how to do this problem if someone can please help me to figure it out thank you.

A survey about the student government program at a school finds that of 245 students:
-218 students like the program
-27 students think the program is uncessary
If a circle graph were made from this data what would the measure of the central angle be for the group that likes the program? Round your answer to the nearest whole number.

1 answer

First we get the percentage of the students who liked the program:
(218 / 245) * 100 = 88.9796 %
Recall that a circle has a measure of 360 degrees. 360 degrees corresponds to the whole. Since 88.9796 % of the whole is the percentage of students who liked the program,
360 degrees * 88.9796 % = 320.33 degrees

hope this helps~ `u`
