I don't know how to start this problem and it goes like this 6y2 = 7y - 5?

Can you please help me just to start it off

multiply 6 and 2, so it would be 12y=7y-5
ok so can you check my work if I did it correct
12y-7y-5=0
5y-5=0
y=1
It would be -1.
12y=7y-5
then you subtract 7y and you get:
5y=-5
then you divide 5 for both sides so you get:
y=-1
