To find the lowest common multiple (LCM) of two or more numbers, list the multiples of the larger number and stop when you find a multiple of the other number. This is the LCM.
Multiples of 48: 48, 96, 144, 192, 240, 288, 336, etc.
Which of these numbers does 30 go into evenly?
I can't find the LCM of 30 and 48. Help please!!

The LCM is 240. To find their LCM all you need to do is divide the answers by prime numbers until you are left with either a 1 or a prime number which cannot be divided more.
In the case of 30 you have 2,3,5.
In the case of 48 you have 2,3,2,2,2.
Then write like numbers beneath each other like this:
30= 2 x 3 x 5
48= 2 x 3 x 2 x 2 x 2
The first 3 and 2 are common therefore we write them once in the next step:
LCM = 2 x 3 x 5 x 2 x 2 x 2
therefore LCM = 240
All I did was multiply all the different numbers but those numbers which were common were multiplied once. Hope that I helped you and that you understood the method!
