I believe a country that is experiencing an ethnic conflict can benefit if an uninvolved country steps in. One can only wonder what the Native American population would look like today if another country had stepped in when the Natives were forced to relocate from their ancestral lands. If a country like Mexico had gotten involved to convince the American government to allow the Natives to stay in their homeland or move to Mexico, the genocide of many Native Americans could have been avoided.

I agree that if an uninvolved country had stepped in to help the Native American population during their forced relocation, it could have led to better outcomes for them because having outside support might have pressured the American government to treat them more fairly and protect their lands, potentially preventing the tragic loss of life and culture that happened during that time.
