I am very nervous about plagiarism and citing sources. If the instructor tells us to review the information provided in chapter twelve and explain the steps of writing, do I have to put the textbook as a reference if I read all of the information and wrote my post in my own words? I am taking classes online.

Citing your source is probably not necessary in this situation, but it wouldn't hurt.
So since I am not actually using exact words but this is where I got the information would I just do this after my post?

Good idea.
If I only used certain pages, where would I put that in my citation?
Put the page numbers in parentheses at the end of the citation.

The reason for citing this text is to give credit to the author for his/her ideas.
