I am trying to figure out how many minutes are required for sunlight to travel from the Sun to Earth? Assuming the sun is 93,000,000 miles from Earth and that sunlight travels at 1.86x10 to the 5th power miles per second.

These things are so tricky, i know i have to convert seconds to minutes but i am not understanding it, even after reading my text. If someone is free, please help! :) Have a wonderful evening!

distance = rate x time
93,000,000 = 186,000 x time
time = 93,000,000/186,000 = 500 seconds.
Now convert 500 seconds to minutes and you have it. There are 60 seconds in 1 min. Or go to google and type in 500 seconds to minutes and press enter.
