Many years ago I had a male student named Viliace. When I saw his name on the records, I had no idea whether he was a boy or girl. There was the initial confusion. I'm sorry to say that he apparently lived up to this confusion, and appeared to me to be without looks, brains, or personality.

I wonder if a change in name would really be causal to a change in personality. There are so many variables that shape a person due to "nature and nurture". I suppose if you had been given a really awful name (instead of your beautiful one)- a name that kids in school would have made fun of, then - perhaps - it could have had an influence on how you perceive yourself and the world around you.
