Solve the system using elimination.
2x + 6y = -12 and 5x – 5y =10
(2, 1)
(0, –2)
(–2, 0)
(1, 2)

2 answers

A quick glance at the equations shows that both can be reduced to simpler form

2x + 6y = -12 ---> x + 3y = -6
5x - 5y = 10 ----> x - y = 2

subtract them:
4y = -8
y = -2
sub into x-y=2
x+2 = 2
x = 0 -------- x=0, y=-2
Hope this is correct
