I am in 8th Grade G/T Science, and I had a question in an online test I didn't understand: An object is traveling at 8.1 m/s. Over the course of 5.3 seconds, it accelerates at a rate of 2.8 m/s2. What is its final velocity (in m/s)?
Can you please help me answer this question?? Thanks!

Hi, for the problem, you basically first find the change in velocity by multiplying the acceleration by the amount of time it takes for the acceleration to change. (Ex. 5.3 x 2.8). Then, add the product to the original velocity (Ex. (8.1 + (5.3 x 2.8)) to get your final velocity.
Vf = Vo + a*t.
Vo = 8.1 m/s.
a = 2.8 m/s^2.
t = 5.3 s.
Vf = ?
Vo = 8.1 m/s.
a = 2.8 m/s^2.
t = 5.3 s.
Vf = ?
