I am having trouble with functions the question is to find the indicated outputs for f(x)=4x^2-2x

Can someone please explain?

f (0) = 4 * 0 * 0 - 2 * 0
= 0

f(-1) = 4 *-1*-1 - 2*-1
= 4 + 2
= 6

f(2) = 4*2*2 - 2*2
= 16 - 4
=12
