ok. Like here in this example...
1.548937075 x 10 to the 12th. Would you do the problem 1.548937075 x 10 to the 12th which would be 1,548,937,075,000 first before you rounded. I think in the number that I got (1,548,937,075,000) there are 10 significant numbers??

sry... 1.548937075 x 10 to the 12th. round the number to 3 significat figures.

If you didn't do the power of 10 and just kept the number 1.548937075 wouldn't it be rounded to 1.55 if it was round to 3 significant numbers?
