How would life on Earth be affected if the atmosphere did NOT contain greenhouse gases?
(In other words, No Greenhouse Effect!)
Greenhouse gas | Definition, Emissions ...
a
There would likely not be life on Earth because its surface would be much colder and Earth's water would be frozen because the greenhouse effect holds heat.
b
There would likely be a few less organisms on Earth because the lack of greenhouse gases would make Earth a little cooler.
c
There would likely be more diverse life on Earth because the lack of greenhouse gases would make Earth just a little warmer.
d
There would likely not be life on Earth because Earth's surface would be much hotter without the Sun's rays being blocked.

a) There would likely not be life on Earth because its surface would be much colder without the greenhouse effect holding in heat. The lack of greenhouse gases would result in temperatures too extreme for most forms of life to survive. Additionally, Earth's water would be largely frozen, making it difficult for life to exist.
