How would I complete this problem?

Geometry. The area of a rectangle of length x is given by 3x^2 + 5x. Find the width of the rectangle.

I think the width is 3x+5 but not sure.

How would I complete this problem?

Geometry. The area of a rectangle of length x is given by 3x^2 + 5x. Find the width of the rectangle.

I think the width is 3x+5 but not sure.

The area is the product of the length times the width or A = xy.

A is given as A = 3x^2 + 5x = xy

Dividing through by x yields y = 3x + 5.
