Christianity spread throughout the Roman Empire primarily through the teachings of Jesus' apostles, who traveled throughout the empire spreading the message of Christianity. Over time, the message gained followers and spread through communities and families. The conversion of Emperor Constantine to Christianity in the early 4th century also played a significant role in the spread of the religion, as it allowed Christianity to be practiced openly and eventually become the official religion of the empire. Additionally, the establishment of churches and the efforts of Christian missionaries also contributed to the spread of Christianity throughout the Roman Empire.
