[ ( 8.3 + x ) / 11.2 ] * 8 ) = 16 Divide both sides by 8

[ ( 8.3 + x ) / 11.2 ] * 8 ) / 8 = 16 / 8

( 8.3 + x ) / 11.2 = 2 Multiply both sides by 11.2

11.2 * ( 8.3 + x ) / 11.2 = 2 * 11.2

8.3 + x = 22.4 Subtract 8.3 to both sides

8.3 + x - 8.3 = 22.4 - 8.3

x = 14.1
[(8.3 + x) / 11.2] * 8 = 16
Multiply both sides by 11.2
8(8.3 + x) = 179.2
66.4 + 8x = 179.2
collect like terms
8x = 179.2 - 66.4
8x = 112.8
Divide both sides by 8
X = 14.1
