how to solve for x in terms of the other variables in this equation?Can anyone please teach?I got no idea...Thanks a lot!

3cx+8d^2=2d(2x+3c)

1 answer

expand it first

3cx + 8d^2 = 2dx + 6dc

get the x's on one side, the non-x's to the other side.

3cx - 2dx = 6dc - 8d^2

take out x as a common factor

x(3c - 2d) = 6dc - 8d^2

divide..

x = (6dc - 8d^2)/(3c - 2d)
