    expand it first
3cx + 8d^2 = 2dx + 6dc
get the x's on one side, the non-x's to the other side.
3cx - 2dx = 6dc - 8d^2
take out x as a common factor
x(3c - 2d) = 6dc - 8d^2
divide..
x = (6dc - 8d^2)/(3c - 2d)

3cx + 8d^2 = 2dx + 6dc
get the x's on one side, the non-x's to the other side.
3cx - 2dx = 6dc - 8d^2
take out x as a common factor
x(3c - 2d) = 6dc - 8d^2
divide..
x = (6dc - 8d^2)/(3c - 2d)
