OMG. Are you counting sentences? You have missed the point of essays. To me, a short essay is on one page, a typical essay (5 paragraph) is about a page and a half, and a narrative format may actually be a short story. http://thoreau.eserver.org/walden11.html
Stop counting sentences. YOu need to think of what you want to say, provide maybe three paragraphs of argument, opinion, or evidence, and a conclusion. then go write an introduction paragraph with a thesis sentence.
