How does x(squareroot)x equal x^(3/2)?

I don't understand where the 3 is coming from.

x = x^1

Square root of x = x^(1/2)

To multiply the two, you add exponents.

1 + 1/2 = 3/2

I hope this helps.
Oh right! Thank you so much!
