how do you solve for f(x)=2x if<0

x+1 if less than or equal to zero? Can you show step by step. Having trouble getting answer and graphing.

Don't know what you mean by "solve" here.

They have defined a function in two pieces. What do you need to do with it?

I also suspect a typo, since "x<0" and "x less than or equal to zero" are basically the same.

If you can graph y=2x then just draw the line, omitting everything right of the y-axis.

Then graph y=x+1, chopping it off at the y-axis so only the right-hand part appears.

you will see two lines, with a jump from y=0 to y=1 at x=0.
