how do you put the following in y=mx+b

1. 19y-8=6x

2. 15x-12x=21

4 answers

you have to solve to get y by itself and everything else on the other side of the equation.

i don't know if you made a mistake on the second one..there is no y
could you display how the first one will be done?
19y-8=6x
then you bring 8 to the other side(add it )
so now you have
19y=6x+8
now you divide 19y by 19 to get y by itself, and you do the same to the other side
y=6x + 8/19

except im not sure if you just divide the 8 by 19 or if you have to divide the 6x by it too..
this type of question takes 2 steps

1. move all terms except the y term to the right side

so 19y = 6x + 8

2. divide every term by the coefficient of the y term, so divide everybody by 19

y = (6/19)x + 8/19

do the same thing to your second equation after you have corrected it.
