I assume you mean a regular pentagon and how to do it by maths?
If t= length of one side.
The formula is
area = 5x t^2 x(tan54)/4
which is quite easy to remember!
If you evaluate the 5 x tan(54)/4 this is approximtately 1.72
so the area of a regular pentagon is approximately 1.72 x t^2
