There are plenty of opinions re bilingualism in the articles among those search results.
Remember that "bilingualism" in the US should include English and any other language. Too many people limit the concept to English/Spanish, but there are plenty of people (including students) across this country whose first language is something other than Spanish and are learning English just fine. They will become bilingual, too. There are also many people in our country and in the world who are trilingual or polyglot. The more, the better!
