how do you add the following fractions.

(X^2-6x)/(x^2+7x)+(x^2+5x)/(x^2+7x)? what do you get when you simiplify it because i have no idea how to :(

1 answer

notice you already have a common denominator so just add them to get

(2x^2 - x)/(x^2 + 7x)

= x(2x-1)/[x(x+7)]
= (2x-1)/(x+7) , x is not equal to 0
